PW TC70 Athena

The PW TC70 Athena is a state-of-the-art cardiograph that simplifies diagnostic ECG testing and streamlines workflow by delivering high quality clinical reports and simplifying cardiac patient care. The TC70 green product has reduced weight by 5%, lead in electronic components by 50%, energy consumption by 12% and packaging weight by 26%. The TC70 offers a life cycle assessment improvement of about 12% compared to its predecessor.

CX50 CompactXtreme Ultrasound System

The Philips CX50 CompactXtreme Ultrasound System marked the introduction of a new class of compact echocardiography. Blending performance and portability, the system offers significant environmental benefits: 10% less packaging weight, 22% improvement in system weight, 31% less operating power and 30% life cycle assessment improvement.

X-Ray tubes

The X-Ray tube Returns & Recycling activity opened a new building in February 2009. In Hamburg, X-Ray tubes are produced. Old tubes are send back and parts, like the housing (mainly lead), are re-used in their present form. This saves a lot of energy and avoids that these materials end up in the ecology system. In 2007 alone, more than 100 tons of recycled material such as steel and beryllium were recycled saving money, energy and resources. The recycling activity saves 34% of primary resource usage in the total tube production.

Achieva 1.5T (A and SE series)

Our focus on sustainability has resulted in our great PowerSave feature for all our MRI systems which saves energy and energy cost, compared to other MRI systems. With smart power management our MRI systems only consume energy when really needed. With these improvements, the Achieva 1.5T product line reduces energy consumption by 28% respectively and offers a life cycle assessment improvement of about 10% compared to their predecessor.
